Mary Ann Todd Lincoln

Hi! Mary is going to tell you about herself. So here she is.

“ I was born on December 13, 1818. I am the daughter of Robert S. Todd, And I am the wife of the 16th president of the United States, and also I was the first lady of the united states from 1861 to 18 65 (not very long, right?). As a member of a rich Kentucky family I am a very proud young lady, I got very good education in Lexington. After finishing school I moved to the capital of Illinois, when I was 21, there I lived with my married sister, and met Abraham Lincoln . Before I married him, I courted Steven Douglass.(I am glad I did not marry him though;)) I married Lincoln on November 4, 1842. I had 4 sons. After the death of My third son, I had, and still have , very deep grief. Since my husband died I am a mental and physical wreck. I had bad health, including horrible headaches.”

When she died on July 16 ,1882, she was buried beside our 16^th president Abraham Lincoln. The sad thing is that only 1 son outlived her. Are there any things to say or ask? Here are some pictures of her.
